The a-IDEA, Agri-Business Incubator of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (NAARM), Hyderabad organized a “Entrepreneurship Education and Pedagogy Training in Agriculture” for the students of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute (PAJANCOA), Karaikal to impart entrepreneurship today.

Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM in his presidential remarks emphasized more on conversion of agriculture produce to value added products. He further underlined the need of students to work in team for conversion of agriculture product to market ready products.

Dr. Shamarao Jahagirdar, Dean, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru College of Agriculture and Research Institute, Karaikal, who was the chief guest during the programme asked for reforms in agriculture education policy with choice based credit system for students who choose entrepreneurship as their profession.

Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, who was also present during the occasion highlighted the need to reorient the agriculture course curriculum in the lines of entrepreneurship.

Dr. N.A. Vijay Avinashilingam, Addtl. CEO, a-IDEA, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad reiterated the need to encourage startup industry in our country to reduce unemployment crisis.

Dr. Ranjit Kumar, Principal Scientist & Head stressed the students to be passionate, visionary and treat the budding enterprises as a child to become a successful entrepreneur.

Mr. Deepak Rajamohan, CEO, greenpodlabs.com & an entrepreneur in developing active packaging to extend shelf life of fruits and vegetables shared his experiences towards becoming successful entrepreneur.

About 490 students and faculty members virtually participated in the programme.
